Jovan S. Bajić was born in Sremska Mitrovica, in 1986. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTS), University of Novi Sad (UNS), Serbia in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Jovan has been employed at FTS, UNS since January 2011 and in 2013 he became a Teaching Assistant at the Chair of Electronics where he participated in taking courses on Sensors and Actuators, Application of Sensors and Actuators, Optoelectronics, Applied Optoelectronics and Electronics and Optoelectronics. He is author and co-author of several papers published in international journals, as well as at national and international conferences. In 2015 he recived PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UNS, Novi Sad. Currently, Jovan is Assistant Professor at FTS, UNS. 

Main activities and research 

  • Teaching and research in the field of Sensors and Actuators, Electronics and Optoelektronics, Applied Optoelectroncs and Application of the Sensors and Actuators
  • Development of various analog and digital electronics and optoelectronics circuits
  • Research and development of various measurement and sensing systems based on the light intensity, phase and spectral change using fiber-optic sensing techniques.

Honors and Awards

  • Department of Power, Electronics and Telecommunication Engeneering annual award for young researcher with most reaserch papers published in 2014.
  • Chair of Electronics annual award for young associate for the results achieved in the teaching and research in 2013.
  • 3rd place in the international competition HARD & SOFT 2011, Faculty of Technical Sciences, Novi Sad, Serbia, team leader.
  • 2nd place at the national competition in robotics - EUROBOT 2011, Novi Sad, Serbia, team member.
  • Award: "Dr. Vladan Desnica", Faculty of Technical Sciences, Novi Sad, Serbia award for best student of microcomputer electronics in 2010 year.
  • Award: "Mihajlo Pupin" Matica Srpska, Novi Sad, Serbia award for master thesis: "Fiber optic sensors based on change of light intensity in opical fiber " (second prize) (2010).
  • 1st place at the national competition in robotics - EUROBOT 2010, Novi Sad, Serbia team member
  • 3rd place in the international competition HARD & SOFT 2010, Suecava, Romania, team member
  • 4th place in the international competition HARD & SOFT 2009 Faculty of Technical Sciences, Novi Sad, Serbia, team member
